Dr Crawford Reid was elected a Councillor for the Strathallan Ward of Perth and Kinross in 2017.
Crawford writes: "It is my privilege to have been elected to serve alongside Cllr Murray Lyle in the Strathallan Ward.
"I graduated in Medicine from the University of Dundee, completing my training in Anaesthetics in Glasgow, Calgary, Canada and Middlesbrough. With over 36 years experience of the NHS, on both sides of the border, I recently retired as a Consultant Anaesthetist in Forth Valley, but, since the Covid-19 pandemic, I have returned to work in Tayside.
"I am married with two daughters, and four granddaughters.
"A past President of the Section of Anaesthesia of the Royal Society of Medicine, I spent 5 years in the Royal Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of Surgeon Commander.
"I have lived in Auchterarder for ten years and I am well aware, through personal experience, and talking to other residents, of the significant issues which cause the Strathallan residents problems. Some of the main issues locally include pressure on roads, parking, shopping, health services and education.
"As a proud Scot, who plays the bagpipes and who has represented Scottish Universities at rugby, I am also aware that we are better served as part of a larger, stronger Union, and will continue to oppose strongly any potential breakup of our country.
"I am proud to represent all citizens of the ward, regardless of their own political persuasion, to the best of my ability, and along with my Scottish Conservative colleagues will continue to work to ensure the council delivers the best possible services and value for money for Council Tax payers."
Crawford currently serves on the Life Long Learning, Environment and Infrastructure, and Planning Committees.
