Following news that Ancaster Care Home in Crieff is to close, Liz Smith MSP has today expressed her concern about the sudden news and called for a joint approach to ensuring the needs of residents are addressed and that staff are given support.

Liz said,

"This is very disappointing and concerning news about Ancaster Care Home. The home is an institution which has a long and distinguished history and which has served the local community extremely well.  It has been home to so many people over the years and I know that they have always been happy there and very well cared for by the staff.

"It will be a matter of huge concern to residents, their families and to staff all of whom must be top priority in finding a satisfactory resolution. I have been in contact with representatives of the IJB and Perth and Kinross Council and pressed the importance of ensuring the needs of residents are paramount at this worrying time."
