MSP Murdo Fraser has welcomed the route of the London 2012 Olympic torch relay will include many towns, villages and streets in Perthshire, including; Meigle; Forfar Road and George Street through Coupar Angus; Woodside; Burrelton; Balbeggie; Angus Road, Stormont Road and Isla Road through Scone; Scone Palace; and several streets in the City of Perth including the North Inch Park. The Olympic torch will travel through Perthshire on the 12 June 2012 and Murdo Fraser believes that residents will come out in large numbers to cheers on the torch bearers. Murdo Fraser MSP said: “It is fantastic that the Olympic torch is coming through Perthshire and torch bearers will take the torch through so many towns and villages in Perth & Kinross, including Meigle, Coupar Angus, Woodside, Burrelton, Balbeggie, Scone and the City of Perth. “The Perthshire leg of the Olympic Torch relay will be one of the most spectacular parts on the UK-wide road to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. I know that local residents will come out in support of the torch bearers and that it will be a once in a lifetime experience for all of us.”
