Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, has encouraged parents across the region to help children write a letter to Santa via the Royal Mail’s special service.
Since 1963 the Royal Mail has ran a service where they will provide a free reply to children as long as a return envelope is sent complete with stamp and address.
Children should write to Santa Claus at Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ before the 7th of December and the Royal Mail will aim to provide a response before the big day.
Last year the service received more than 600,000 letters and for the most part they were able to reply to a majority of children.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“Writing a letter to Santa is one of the great Christmas traditions and it’s even better if children receive a reply.
“Every year, more than half a million children write to Santa and Royal Mail aims to reply to as many as possible- after all he is very busy at this time of year.
“This service has been making kids' Christmas dreams come true since 1963 and I would encourage parents across the region to help children draft a letter.
“As we approach December, I look forward to visiting Royal Mail in Perth to see first-hand the great work our posties do in delivering letters and parcels during a period of high demand.”
