Liz Smith, Scottish Conservatives MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has written to the Chief Executive of Perth & Kinross Council to seek an answer as to how Perth & Kinross Council has managed to run up a bill of over £3 million on credit cards since 2007.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservatives MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“Local taxpayers will be asking the questions how has SNP controlled Perth & Kinross Council managed to run up a bill of over £3 million on credit cards.
“The £3 million spent on credit cards since 2007 is extremely high compared to other Scottish Councils of a similar size and population.
“In the response to the freedom of information request obtained by the Scottish Conservatives, Perth & Kinross Council failed to account for what this taxpayer money had been spend on.
“I have written to the Chief Executive of Perth & Kinross Council seeking an explanation for how such a large sum of money has been spent by Perth & Kinross Council on credit cards and seeking a review of the Councils policy on the use of credit cards and the accounting of such expenditure.”
