Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has welcomed the creation of 30 new jobs at Vector Aerospace, a firm specialising in the maintenance of aircrafts in Perthshire.
A Scottish Enterprise grant worth £250,000 will allow the company to invest in a new training programme which will create 30 new jobs.
The firm is also developing its Almondbank facility to repair aero engines with 40 new jobs set to be added in the long term.
Conservative MSP Murdo Fraser said:
“This is great news for Vector Aerospace. Despite encountering problems earlier in the year, Vector has bounced back and their programme for modernisation appears to be working.
“The creation of 30 new jobs in a multi-skilled industry is positive news for the area. Hopefully this latest Scottish Enterprise grant can result in a sustainable future for Vector Aerospace within Perthshire.
“Skilled industries will be integral to the future growth of Scotland and Perthshire. In the current climate many companies are refusing to invest in their employees, hopefully the example shown by Vector will prove a successful model that other firms can copy.”
