Mid Scotland & Fife MSP Liz Smith has support Small Business Saturday and has urged local residents across Perth & Kinross to support their local town and village shops.
Liz Smith MSP said:
“Small businesses are at the life-blood of many of our town centres.
“Small Business Saturday UK aims to champion our small businesses at this vital time of the year for retailers.
“I would really urge everyone to support this great initiative. We can all champion the excellent entrepreneurs, tradesmen, shopkeepers and local producers that work hard in our towns, villages and countryside to offer a wonderful service to the consumer.
“Smallbusinesses account for the majority of businesses in the UK and employ 14.4million people. Small businesses work incredible hard and our small independent businesses provide vital services and jobs for local residents. We need to support them all year round and as a local MSP I know how important they are to us.
“Many local communities have also tried to help encourage people to shop locally this Christmas. For example this coming Thursday 11th will see Crieff small business stay open for late night shopping with entertainment laid on including a brass bang, grand raffle, and music from the Crieff Choral Society.”
