Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has welcomed the news that Crieff Community Trust has been progressing talks with the Royal Bank of Scotland to take over the former bank and Drummond Arms Hotel under a community right to buy. Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fifesaid: “There has been growing concern that the current condition of some of the surrounding masonry on the building facing James Square is becoming a safety hazard. “The Drummond Arms Hotel has been in an unacceptable state of disrepair for many years, and as a local MSP, I have been lobbying for action for some time. “I am pleased that the Crieff Community Trust are making welcome progress with the community right to buy and I will be do all I can to help facilitate this and secure the Scottish Government support needed.”
