With just three weeks to go until Stirling Armed Forces Day, Murdo Fraser is asking constituents to turn out and support the forces on what looks to be a spectacular event.
Scotland has more than 400,000 veterans and thousands currently serving in the navy, army and air force.
Attractions on the 28th will include parachute displays, acrobatics from the Red Arrows, flypasts from vintage aircraft, music and a parade with over 1200 service personnel. The event is also free to attend.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“Scottish servicemen and women have made a tremendous contribution to peacekeeping and defence efforts around the globe and Stirling is honoured to play host to this prestigious national event.
“2014 marks 100 years since the start of the Great War and the 70th anniversary of the D-day landings making it more important than ever to get out and support the 400,000 armed forces veterans in Scotland.
“The programme of events planned for Stirling is truly spectacular and will no doubt result in thousands visiting the area from all over Britain.”
