Commenting on the decision by the Scottish Government to call-in the closure decision of Tanshall, Dunino and Wellwood Primary Schools in Fife.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“In the case of the three proposed school closures which have been called in by Ministers, it is very clear that there are concerns about the accuracy of some of the information on which the original decision was based and that is something which must be speedily addressed so that parents and teachers can have full confidence in the process.
“The very recent changes to the school closures legislation which were part of the Children and Young People's Act, were designed to ensure that there is full transparency when it comes to possible closures and that there is no scope for incomplete or inaccurate information being used to determine the final outcome.
“I am sure the communities around Tanshall, Wellwood and Dunino will want this matter resolved as quickly as possible."
