Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has called on his fellow politicians to wish St Johnstone the best of luck ahead of their crunch Scottish Cup final against Tayside rivals Dundee United.
Saturday’s cup final marks the Perth club’s first appearance at Scottish footballs showpiece game and will also mark the first ever all-Tayside final.
Murdo has called for politicians across the chamber to support his motion and wish St Johnstone best for their cup final.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“St Johnstone have the chance to cap off a memorable season by winning the Scottish Cup and I would like to wish them the best of luck ahead of Saturday’s game.
“Thus far my motion has attracted considerable support, perhaps not amongst my Dundee United supporting colleagues, but I would hope that our backing can add to the thousands that will be at Celtic Park cheering on the Saints.
“Winning the cup would be a tremendous achievement and regardless of what happens on Saturday the city of Perth is extremely proud of its team.”
