Pitlochry post office will be closed for nearly two weeks in September for renovations to transform the site into a new main-style branch. The refurbished branch will open on the 30th of September.
The change forms part of a major programme of modernisation designed to create a more convenient retail experience. The branch will still offer the same products and services but will feature longer opening hours as well as the availability of post office services at the retail counter during shop opening hours.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“The Post Office has made a big commitment to re-invest and revitalise its branch network and it is especially pleasing to see these changes come to Pitlochry.
“Longer opening hours and better service delivery will ensure that residents in Pitlochry area are given access to the best possible services.
“In rural areas, the Post Office occupies a special place within the community. Many Pitlochry residents rely on the Post Office for a wide variety of services, and the modernisation process will help in the delivery of these very services."
