Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has welcomed the refusal by Perth & Kinross Council of a proposed 102 new housing development on the old Kinross High School site.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“The fact that Perth & Kinross Council have refused permission for this proposal is indicative of the strength of feeling about the size and impact of the proposed development and is clearly the correct response to the sizable number of objections from members of the public.
“I hope that any future proposal will look again at the many issues of concern which have been raised from the fact that under the local plan the site has been earmarked to allow for only 70 homes, the potential capacity issues at Kinross primary school, the many parking concerns facing Kinross as well as the potential to retain the old school buildings in any development.
“Local democracy is all about local Councils and locally elected Councillors taking decisions close to the communities in which the decisions will be impacted. It is good news to see that in this case Perth & Kinross Council have listened to the concerns of local people.”
