Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating ‘Iain Burnett- the Highland Chocolatier’ for winning a contract with British Airways to supply chocolates to first class passengers.
‘Iain Burnett- The Highland Chocolatier’ had previously won the coveted product of the year award at the 2013 Scottish Food and Drink Excellence Awards.
The Grandtully based business will supply 23,000 chocolates every week to BA which has resulted in business expansion.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“Iain Burnett has cemented his reputation as one of the UK’s finest chocolatiers and this contract will only further enhance the reach of his products.
“The Highland Chocolatier is a strong example of an entrepreneurial business based in Perthshire which has a national client base.
“This prestigious contract will bring national awareness which can only be good for the business and Perthshire as a whole.”

That the Parliament congratulates the Perthshire-based business, Iain Burnett – The Highland Chocolatier, on its contract to supply chocolate to first class passengers on British Airways (BA) flights; understands that this marks the first time that the airline has served chocolates made in Scotland; further understands that Iain Burnett, who trained under master chocolatiers in Belgium, Switzerland and France, adds this to his already prestigious list of clients including Gordon Ramsay’s Royal Hospital Road, Claridge’s, the Lanesborough restaurants in London, the Gleneagles Hotel, Harvey Nichols, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Government; believes that this contract serves to enhance the company's growing reputation; understands that the Grandtully-based business will supply 23,000 chocolates every week to BA; believes that, in order to meet demand, the business has hired two more chocolatiers as well as extra supply chain staff; congratulates this Highland Perthshire-based business on its contract, and wishes it every success in the future.
