Convenor for the Scottish Parliament’s Tourism committee and Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, has welcomed the inclusion of Pitlochry’s Atholl Palace Hotel in a list of the world’s must stay places.
Murdo believes their inclusion in ‘TravelGround’s’ list of jaw dropping places to stay will give both Pitlochry and Highland Perthshire added international exposure which could result in increased visitor numbers.
Amongst those on the ‘TravelGround’ list are a $1500-a-night underwater hotel in Zanzibar and an ice hotel in Canada.
The article ranks Atholl Palace at number 22 (out of 28) and the only hotel in the UK and Ireland to make the list.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“To be on a list that includes a number of globally-renowned hotels will surely bolster Atholl Palace’s already stellar reputation as a place to visit and stay.
“There is something for everyone in Perthshire and this is encapsulated by Atholl Palace which boasts a world-class spa, gardens and fantastic conference facilities.
“Atholl Palace is a fine example of the kind of outstanding hotels we have in this country and its inclusion on this list will hopefully result in more people choosing Perthshire’s as a unique holiday and short-break destination.”
