MSP for Mid-Scotland and Fife, Murdo Fraser, is urging constituents to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The official World’s Biggest Coffee Morning day is on September 27 but events can be held any time.
The first National World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was in 1991, when 2,600 people registered to hold coffee mornings across the country. Since then it has raised over £75 million in total for Macmillan Cancer Support.
In 2012 115,000 people signed up to coffee morning, raising a record £15 million.
Murdo Fraser MSP, said:
“I know that a considerable number of constituents have personal experience of the problems a cancer diagnosis can bring to both patients and their family, and I know that Macmillan has been there to support many of those in need.
“Hopefully residents across, Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire will get out on force and support this great event.
“It’s a fun and easy way to raise money to help Macmillan be there for people with cancer and their families when they need them most.”
