Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser attended the opening of the new park and ride facility at Halbeath in Fife.
The £10 million facility located just off the M90, to the east of Dunfermline, will support the new bridge, Queensferry Crossing, and build on the success of the Ferrytoll Park & Ride, further enhancing transport links between Fife and Central Scotland.
Halbeath Park & Ride has more than 1000 car-parking spaces, six bus stances, heated waiting area with toilets, seats, vending machine and staffed supervisor’s office.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“It was a great pleasure to be at the opening of the new Halbeath Park and Ride which will greatly improve the standard of living for many Fifers.
“The Ferrytoll Park & Ride has been a great success but is often overfilled therefore another facility was required to meet demand, ease congestion and improve transport links to the Central Belt.
“The new facility at Halbeath will open up Dunfermline and the surrounding area to significant economic opportunities.
“Fast and convenient transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow will increase the appeal of Fife as a place to live and work and will help encourage businesses to the area.”
