Liz Smith MSP has welcomed the announcement that the Scottish government is to contribute £14.5m towards building replacements for Kinross and Tulloch primary schools.
The Perthshire based MSP had led calls for both schools to be replaced and lobbies Scottish Ministers to secure the funding.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
"This is very good news indeed and is a credit to all those parents of pupils in both Tulloch and Kinross Primary Schools who have campaigned to ensure that the existing buildings are replaced with ones which can deliver the very best educational experience for both pupils and staff.
“It is also very good news for the two local communities, both of which often feel they lose out to other areas when it comes to economic and social benefits. Primary schools are often the focus for a range of community activities and I am sure new accommodation will be an even greater attraction."
