Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, visited the Perth Depot recently to find out more about the SSEPD apprentice programme, meet the team and learn about some of the work being carried out in her Region.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife said:
“I was very impressed to visit SSEPD's training centre to see for myself their apprenticeship programme which since 2007, has seen over 500 apprentices successfully graduate from the programme and are now playing a vital role in all aspects of day to day operations.
“The programme is providing first class opportunities for many young people to learn the skills needed to work in the industry with apprentices earning and learning at the same time.
"High-quality apprenticeships help young people out of unemployment and into work, as well as boosting the skills of the workforce for the benefit of the whole economy. I congratulate SSEPD on developing their apprenticeship programme and wish them well in the future.”
