Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“I was delighted to see at first hand the new Dundee Academy of Sport. The Academy of Sport is working alongside partner schools to develop a programme of learning opportunities that link the participation and interest in sport and physical activity to other areas across the school curriculum.
“This sort of partnership working is exactly the sort of framework which can help use sport as a vehicle for learning across the school curriculum and throughout life.
“As the convenor of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Sport I was pleased to learn about the joint working which is taking place between Abertay University in partnership with Dundee & Angus College and local schools. It is vital that we develop as many opportunities for sport and physical activity and this project is a great example of that being achieve in action.”
