Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has met with Royal Mail management to discuss the future of post services to rural communities. Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said: "I think everyone fully accepts that there are far fewer letters being sent and received these days and that some changes must therefore be made to postal services, but I hope everything possible will be done to avoid inconvenience to customers. In particular, I think there are many smaller businesses in some of the rural parts of Perthshire who are concerned that their post is no longer being delivered before lunchtime and sometimes very much later into the afternoon. In some cases, this means they effectively lose a day when it comes to responding to mail and requests for invoices and bills. “Constituents have been raising concerns with me about the information which has been provided by the Post Office. They clearly want some issues clarified and some detailed input as to what criteria have been used to decide how deliveries will be reorganised."
