Liz Smith MSP has called on groups across Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire to apply for community funding offered by Tesco Bags of Help.
Funding from this scheme first launched in October 2015 and has since given £27 million to more than 3500 community groups across the UK.
Grants are available for improvements to community buildings, church and village halls or sports changing rooms. Groups looking to hold seasonal events, like Christmas lights displays, can also apply for Tesco money. New rules mean that grants will also be available to fund the equipment purchases such as sports kit, camping equipment, spades, litter pickers or specialised medical equipment.
Commenting Liz Smith MSP said:
“This is a big opportunity for community groups throughout Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire and I would encourage them to contact one of Tesco’s Scottish enablers to find out more.
“There are a huge number of social enterprises and community groups who could all benefit from funding like this. With grants of up to £4,000 available it’s critical that groups act fast to avoid disappointment.
“Funding from Tesco Bags of Help can make a huge difference to communities and I want people in Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire to grab their fair share.”
