Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has urged junior football teams in the Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire to apply for free kits as part of McDonald’s youth football initiative which runs until the end of May.
McDonald’s has re-opened its portal for junior football clubs to order free kits. Local clubs will be able to order through www.mcdonalds.co.uk/kitscheme until the 11th of May in Scotland.
Over the next three years, McDonald’s will give away brand new team kit to every UK FA accredited club with a junior team across the country, via the UK FAs official kit suppliers, Nike and adidas. Through this initiative the fast food giant expects to provide over 250,000 kits to clubs across the UK.
Keen football fan, Murdo Fraser MSP, is calling on local clubs in Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire to make use of this fantastic opportunity.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“McDonald’s have worked hard to help the grassroots game in Scotland and this latest initiative is part of their long running strategy to help encourage more kids into the game.
“Football is our national sport and ensuring that junior clubs have the right coaches and the right support will be crucial in unearthing the next Kenny Dalglish or Ally McCoist.
“I would encourage all clubs in Scotland but particularly those based in Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire to log on and apply for brand new Adidas or Nike kits as applications will only be accepted for another 18 days.”
