Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has called on Transport Minister Keith Brown to review the use of motorway electronic gantry signs.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
"It is imperative that motorway gantry signs are as up to date and as relevant to drivers as possible and it is my understanding that some work has recently been done to ensure there is an improvement in this area.
“I cannot understand why, on a beautiful spring day, when the temperature in my car was reading 14 deg C, a sign on the northbound M90 should be asking drivers "is your car ready for winter?" Not only was this daft, but it was also failing to advise drivers of the roadworks at Kinross-shire a little further on.
“This is by no means the first time recently I have noticed a sign that is completely out of date of irrelevant and I hope the problem will be sorted as soon as possible. These signs can have a huge influence on driver safety and they need to be right."
