Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife has called for the issue of Fife and Stirling Police control room closures to be debated in full in the Scottish Parliament.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“The head in the sand approach adopted by the SNP Government on the issue of Police control room closures cannot continue.
“People across Scotland are furious at the SNP cuts our local Police call centres and demand answers.
“In my time as an MSP I have not seen such an inadequate consultation process and I am concerned that this has resulted in the facts and information which have been used to reach this decision not being fully comprehensive with no public consultation whatsoever.
“It is time the First Minster took control of the issue and instructed Police Scotland to publish the business case which has been used to reach these decisions. I also believe such an important matter should be debated in depth within the Scottish Parliament. This is too big a decision for the SNP to simply brush off as a Police Scotland operational matter.”
