Liz Smith MSP has called on the traffic assessment for T in the Park at Strathallan Castle to be published. The Perthshire based MSP has asked for an urgent meeting with Police Scotland’s T in the Park planning committee to discuss local concerns.
Liz Smith, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife said:
“Given the confusion which seems to surround the decision making process which has led to the decision by Perth & Kinross Council to give the green light for T in the Park to move to the Strathallan Castle site I have asked for clarity on whether or not a full access assessment has taken place and for these results to be made public. I will also be seeking an urgent meeting with Police Scotland’s T in the Park planning committee to discuss local concerns.
“T in the Park is major event and undoubtedly helps the local economy and puts Perth & Kinross on the map every year.
“However, if T in the Park is to move to Strathallan Castle then there are clearly a number of local access issues which need to be addressed, most specifically how the use of narrow country lanes which are in frequent use by agricultural vehicles will be managed. There are also a number of issues about access from these roads to the castle.
“It is vital that the views of the local community are taken on board at all times and that genuine consultation takes place to limit the potential future disruption for local residents.”
