Emergency services are attending a serious crash on the A9 Inverness-Perth road south of Dalwhinnie.
Initial reports are that three vehicles are involved in the incident and the road is closed in both directions.
A woman has been cut from the wreckage by firefighters.
The accident is on a single carriageway section of the road at Dalnaspidal Lodge, close to the start of the dual carriageway at Drumochter.
Five local fire crews were called out and the air ambulance is also on its way to the scene.
Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“I am very concerned to hear of another serious accident on a single carriageway section of the A9 and my thoughts are with those involved.
“This accident reinforces the case for the road to be made up to a dual carriageway and it needs to be done sooner rather than later.
“In addition to the impact on those directly affected there will be once again considerable disruption and economic implications for the area as a result of the road closure.”
