Mid-Scotland and Fife MSPs, Liz Smith and Murdo Fraser are confident of a good turnout at next week’s public meeting on the future of clinical services at NHS Tayside following substantial interest from constituents.
NHS Tayside Chairman, Prof John Connell, is set to attend the meeting and will explain to patients the changes currently being proposed at the health board.
The meeting was called following concerns over the future of services at Perth Royal Infirmary in addition to issues around on-call medical availability, mental health support and the temporary closure of minor injuries units.
Commenting Liz Smith MSP said;
“My office has been busy with calls from people looking to attend the meeting which underlines the strong interest from residents in protecting the NHS services they hold dear.
“We are expecting a strong turnout and I look forward to welcoming as many NHS Tayside patients as possible.”
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said;
“We all know that NHS services are changing but the public’s voice must be heard and as a result a number of people have got in touch to offer their thanks for hosting the meeting next week.
“This meeting gives patients the chance to learn more about NHS Tayside’s plans as well as an forum to put their points across to the man at the top and I would encourage as many people as possible to come along.”
