Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament commending Stirling University’s inclusion within QS’s prestigious University world rankings.
For the first time ever, Stirling University was included in a list of the top 2.5% of world universities.
QS started compiling a list of the world’s best universities in 2004 and is now recognised as the definitive source for ranking higher education in different countries.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said;
“I was delighted to see Stirling earn a place in the QS list of the world’s elite universities.
“This recommendation will further enhance Stirling’s burgeoning international reputation, with over 85 different nationalities represented on campus already.
“This award is recognition for the hard work and dedication of every faculty and support staff member and I wish the university every success in the future.
“Nonetheless, the Scottish Government must ensure that future funding support keeps pace with our competitors in order to sustain world class education in Scotland.”
