Go home and think again, is the message from Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, ahead of the planned SDL march in Perth next month.
Far right protestors are set to descend on the Fair City in September to protest against the construction of a new mosque in the city. Anti-fascism counter demonstrators are set to face off against the Scottish Defence League and a heavy police presence is expected.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said;
“People in Perth do not want the SDL here and their message of hatred and division has no audience in the Fair City.
“We have a settled Muslim population who are not only incredibly welcome but also fully integrated within our communities and the last thing we need is people from other parts of the country stirring up hatred and division.
“I would encourage those who plan on countering the SDL march to be respectful to the police in order to ensure that there is no trouble.”
