Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, visited the recent Small Business Saturday Bus Tour which passed through Perth yesterday.
The bus was in the “Fair City” for four hours to engage and promote local businesses before moving on to its next stop in Inverclyde.
The bus tour was able to provide small businesses with free advice and some firms were highlighted through the Business on Board scheme, which promoted them through the campaign’s social media channels.
Small Business Saturday is being held on the 1st of December this year and Murdo is encouraging residents to shop local in order to support their local high street.
Commenting, Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“It was great to take part in the Small Business Saturday bus tour in Perth yesterday.
“This campaign is only making four stops across Scotland and I was delighted to see Perth picked as one of them.
“I was pleased to meet with a number of small businesses in the area to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities they face.
“As we saw in this week’s budget, the Chancellor has committed to supporting Britain’s high streets and I would encourage Derek Mackay to do likewise when he announces the Scottish Government budget later this year.
“Small Businesses up and down the country are working incredibly hard to provide fantastic services and products and this tour is a great way to promote these entrepreneurs.”
