Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has given his backing to National Air Ambulance week (September 23rd - 29th) and has urged those who believe in the service to make a small donation to the Charity Air Ambulance based in Perth.
The Charity Air Ambulance was launched in May and has received over 130 callouts thus far. Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) operates for 10 hours a day, seven days a week, and are tasked through the 999 emergency line.
The SCAA is entirely funded by donations and costs £1.5 million a year to keep it in the air.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“During emergency situations in rural areas every second counts, and it is in these circumstances that the Charity Air Ambulance demonstrates its true worth.
“To have had over 130 callouts since May illustrates the much needed service that the ambulance is already providing.
“During National Air Ambulance week, we must do all in our powers to raise the profile of the service to ensure that it continues to receive the donations that guarantee its survival.
“Whether it’s one pound or a fiver, any donation is greatly appreciated, especially by the victims who owe their lives to the service
