Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has called on motorists to take care whilst driving in Perthshire during the recent cold snap.
With ice, snow and blizzard conditions predicted for much of Scotland and Perthshire, drivers must exercise caution whilst on the roads.
So far gritters and snow ploughs have coped admirably with the first serious snow of winter, however resources will be tested further if the snowy weather continues.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“Before Christmas I visited Tayside Contracts to check their preparations for winter. Whilst there I was delighted to see the hard work and commitment of all their staff who work to keep the roads clear, their dedication will be vital during the coming days.
“However, with freezing fog, ice and blizzards predicted, road users must be sensible when travelling. Motorists must prepare by packing winter essentials in their vehicles at all times.
