Murdo Fraser MSP will be travelling through Perthshire and Fife as part of a classic rally to raise money for a charity “dear to his heart.”
The Scottish Conservative politician will be taking part in the Rotary Club of Blairgowrie Classic Car Tour on Sunday, August 22 – driving his 1972 Triumph Stag.
There are currently 78 cars taking part in the rally, which was previously postponed due to Covid restrictions.
Commenting, Mr Fraser, who represents the Mid Scotland and Fife region, said: “Congratulations are due to Blairgowrie Rotary Club for persevering with this event, which was due to be held last year but had to be postponed due to Covid restrictions.
“We will be travelling through Perthshire and Fife, after being set off by Provost Dennis Melloy from Blairgowrie Golf Club at 10am on August 22. It would be great for any local residents to give us a wave as we pass by.
“This is also an opportunity to raise funds for the very good cause that is Alzheimer Scotland - one dear to my heart. A close family member had Alzheimer’s.”
Mr Fraser continued: “It is sure to be an exciting and rewarding day, with the money raised going to a good cause. Fingers crossed that we will have good weather and no breakdowns!”
