Murdo Fraser MSP has lodged an urgent question asking the Scottish Government whether it will provide further details of discussions in November 2017 between Leslie Evans, Scotland's most senior civil servant, and Nicola Sturgeon regarding an alleged incident at Edinburgh Airport involving Alex Salmond.
The move follows Mrs Evans refusing to say whether female staff were 'advised not to be alone' with Alex Salmond.
At the first hearing of the committee, which is looking into the Scottish Government's handling of harassment claims against the former First Minister, Mr Fraser referred to testimony at Mr Salmond's High Court trial that female civil servants were advised not to be alone with him and he asked Mrs Evans if she was aware of that.
Permanent Secretary, Mrs Evans, said "I can't comment" and then Linda Fabiani MSP, the convener of the committee, said: "I'm not sure that question is entirely appropriate."
Mrs Evans had told the committee that Mr Salmond had contacted the Scottish Government about an alleged incident at Edinburgh Airport in November 2017 after he was made aware that Sky News had been looking into the matter. Mr Salmond has denied the Edinburgh Airport allegations.
