Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP, Murdo Fraser, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament congratulating Beautiful Scotland award winners from across Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
Beautiful Scotland is ran in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society under the Britain in Bloom campaign. The programme supports community groups across Scotland as they seek to improve and enhance their local environment.
There were numerous award winners from Mid-Scotland and Fife, with Perth, Inverkeithing, Kilconquhar and Kinnesswood picking up big awards.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said;
“These awards celebrate the hard work of thousands of volunteers who give up their spare time and it was only right to celebrate their work in the Scottish Parliament and I am pleased to see such large support for my motion.
“Perth, Inverkeithing, Kinnesswood and Kilconquhar have done extremely well to scoop the large town, small town and small village and wee village trophies’, which highlights just how well the area is looked after. The awards didn’t stop there, with Alloa, Comrie, Dunkeld, Falkland, Dunfermline and Muthill also picking up commendations on the night.
“Making sure your community remains well presented is good for visitors but also for the community itself and I am impressed with the number of award winners across the region. Here’s hoping this trend can continue next year.”
