Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has called on motorists and pedestrians to take extra care in the wake of high winds as a result of Storm Hector.
The summer storm has seen gusts of up to 70mph and the Tay Bridge was closed to motorists this morning.
Murdo is calling on commuters and pedestrians to take extra care whilst out and about.
Commenting, Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“High winds are battering parts of Mid-Scotland and Fife and it’s important that the pedestrians and commuters take extra care when out and about.
“For drivers this means leaving extra room in between cars and holding the steering wheel firmly whilst keeping a close eye on falling debris.
“A number of rail links have been disrupted due to the weather and it’s important that Scotrail services are able to get up and running quickly and safely for the evening rush hour.
“With the storm due to move eastwards it’s important that people in Perth and Kinross and Fife are aware of the dangers and take appropriate action.”
