A parliamentary motion has been lodged in the Scottish Parliament that praises Charlestown, Limekilns and Pattiesmuir Community Council, Queen Anne High School, Need to Talk 2 Community Interest Company and St Leonards Primary School for being awarded funding by the Big Lottery Fund earlier this year. Mid-Scotland & Fife MSP Murdo Fraser lodged the motion ‘Dunfermline Benefits from Big Lottery Fund’, which reads as follows: “That the Parliament welcomes the 42 awards, totalling £279,485, made by the Big Lottery Fund in May 2012 in the Mid-Scotland and Fife region; notes that the awards include funding for local schools and groups in and around Dunfermline, including funding for Charlestown, Limekilns and Pattiesmuir Community Council, Queen Anne High School, Need to Talk 2 Community Interest Company and St Leonards Primary School; considers that these schools and groups make an important contribution in their local communities, and thanks the many individuals involved to achieve these awards all the hard work and dedication.” MSP Murdo Fraser said: “It is welcome that schools and groups in and around Dunfermline have been awarded funding from the Big Lottery Fund, which will help projects in our local area and improve our schools. “St Leonards Primary School will use their grant to redevelop the school playground and Queen Anne High School will develop their extra-curricular sports programme by purchasing and installing rugby posts and baskets ball stands. “Need to Talk 2 Community Interest Company will work with local schools to deliver a programme for boys aged 14-16 who have been arrested for violent behaviour or have been identified as having poor attitude towards females and LGBT people. “Charlestown, Limekilns and Pattiesmuir Community Council in Fife will run a floral displays scheme for the people living in these villages and encourage more residents to get involved in community gardening. “As my parliamentary motion sets out, I want to thank all those involved in achieving these awards and for all their work and dedication.”
