Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has secured the support of the major political parties at Holyrood for Bauer Radio’s Coats for Kids appeal in Tayside and North East Fife.
The “Coats for Kids” appeal aims to provide around 600 children in the area with either a warm jacket or footwear this winter. It is estimated that around one in four children in parts of Tayside and North East Fife survive without the most basic essentials.
Running throughout October the coats for kids appeal aims to raise £30,000, which will be then used to provide a £50 clothing voucher to every qualifying child.

Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“The ‘Coats for Kids’ appeal is a hugely worthwhile initiative that can positively impact the lives of the most vulnerable children in North East Fife and Tayside.
“I am delighted to support this appeal and welcome the cross-party support it has attracted in Parliament.
“Far too many children across the region are going without the most basic essentials and it is important that during the cold winter the very least they can expect is a warm jacket or shoes to go to school in.
“Ensuring that vulnerable children are supported is hugely important and I would like to congratulate Bauer on supporting this initiative.”
