MURDO SUPPORTS NATIONAL AIR AMBULANCE WEEK

Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has given his backing to National Air Ambulance week (September 23rd - 29th) and has urged those who believe in the service to make a small donation to the Charity Air Ambulance based in Perth.

30% of TAYSIDE FIRE-FIGHTERS FAIL FITNESS TESTS

A freedom of Information request has shown that 30% of Tayside Fire fighters were unfit, the UK average was 10%. Figures were worse in Strathclyde where of the 652 tested, 435 were "unfit" fire-fighters, of whom 111 were "seriously unfit".

Perth & Kinross mobile reception worst in Scotland

The Mobile Performance and Coverage in Scotland report has found that poor mobile phone coverage across Perth & Kinross. The report found that 3G is unavailable in 60.2% of Perth & Kinross communities.

RENEWABLES SECTOR ONLY EMPLOYS A HANDFUL OF MODERN APPRENTICES

Only a tiny fraction of the Scottish Government’s modern apprentices have found places in the renewable energy sector, it has emerged. Of the 8,299 modern apprentices in Scotland, only 37 are working solely in the renewable energy and low-carbon market.
