Mid-Scotland and Fife MSP Murdo Fraser has commended Amazon for giving 300 temporary workers permanent contracts.
Just over 640 staff work at the Dunfermline distribution facility with another 100 jobs planned for the near future.
Before Christmas Murdo urged Amazon to make good on their initial promise to employ over 700 people in Dunfermline.
Nationally the online shopping giant plans another two UK centres creating a further 2000 jobs.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“For the 300 temporary workers who have been awarded permanent contracts, this is great news. The stability that this move brings will be essential in galvanising the local economy and creating a lasting legacy for Fife.
“Last year I pressured Amazon to make good on their plans and deliver the jobs they promised in 2011, it is good to see these ambitions come to fruition.
“Hopefully, the success of Amazon in Fife will persuade other big name companies to invest in the region.”
