Mid-Scotland and Fife Conservative MSP Murdo Fraser has expressed his sadness at the fatal accident involving two lorry drivers on the A9 north of Blair Atholl, closing the A9 in both directions.Murdo Fraser MSP said: “It is extremely sad to learn that two young lives have been lost on the A9 north of Blair Atholl. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved in this fatal accident. “Communities along the A9 will be saddened by this tragedy. It will be a harrowing undertaking for the emergency services to investigate the crash and the road will remain closed for much of the day. As the A9 is the main arterial route between the Central Belt and the North of Scotland, this accident will inevitably and understandably cause major disruption for individuals and businesses. “Once again this fatal accident reinforces the need for the A9 to be made up to dual carriageway as quickly as possible. I would urge the Scottish Government to press ahead with its plans for dualling between Perth and Inverness as soon as it is practical.”
