Murdo Fraser, our candidate for Perthshire North and Roz McCall our candidate for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire, are calling for a public vote on the plans for a new leisure facility in Perth.
The current SNP-run Perth and Kinross Council plan for a new facility at the site of the Thimblerow car park in Perth lets local residents down badly. It will leave the centre of the city with less parking, and the facility itself will be a significant downgrade on what was on offer previously at Perth Leisure Pool, Dewars, and Bells Sports Centre.
Sports and leisure clubs across the region have come out in opposition to this plan and it is time the SNP listened to their pleas and scrapped this ill-conceived project.
Conservative colleagues in Holyrood and on Perth & Kinross Council have campaigned against this plan and will continue to do so. Join my campaign today to say NO to Thimblerow.
